Public Affairs Committee

Our Public Affairs committee has been hard at work for The Junior League of Macon, Inc. working along side with SPAC (State Public Affairs Committee of the Junior Leagues of Georgia).

You may have questions regarding legislators, legislation, how to register to vote, where you go to vote, or you may just want to refresh your memory from your primary school education. Below is a comprehensive list of web addresses to help you with all of your questions. The Public Affairs Committee members would like your feedback on the helpfulness of these sites. Thank you!

Capitol Day

Each year, members of the Junior League of Georgia and other leagues around the state visit the state capitol to discuss issues important to our members.

Our Position Statement

The State Public Affairs Committee (SPAC) of the Junior Leagues of Georgia: Support, recognizes, and promotes responsible concepts, programs, policies, and legislation that advocate for:

  • The aid and protection of women, children, families, and vulnerable populations. (Aid and Protection)
  • Quality education which is critical for Georgia’s students to become college and/or career ready for our global society. We are committed to excellence and safety in our education systems. (Education)
  • Improved access to healthcare for women, children, and vulnerable populations. We recognize that we have a responsibility to shape Georgia’s healthcare policies for the future prosperity of our state. (Healthcare)
