Each spring, the Junior League of Macon conducts substantial research on our community's most pressing needs as they relate to our focus areas of women, children, and poverty. Based on our research, the following community and in-kind partners were chosen for our 2025-2026 league year. Our active members volunteer and host various events with our community partners, and our provisional and active members are encouraged to donate needed items to our in-kind partner.
If you are a local non-profit organization interested in partnering with the Junior League of Macon in the future, please email our Community Impact Chair at cipchair@jlmacon.org.
The Junior League of Macon is continuing its community partnership with Washington Memorial Library's 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten Program, which challenges local families to read 1,000 books to their children before they begin kindergarten. Active members will assist with programming, read books to children, and sponsor the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten graduation ceremony. To learn how you can help our local libraries, click here.
Active members of the Junior League of Macon are beginning a new community partnership with the Rescue Mission of Middle Georgia. The Rescue Mission is a life recovery program for women, men, and children dealing with addition, domestic violence, sexual abuse, poverty, homelessness, and other life-challenging issues. Active members will volunteer with the Rescue Mission's thrift store, host events for residents, and distribute food to local unhoused individuals during the holidays. The Junior League of Macon has selected Crisis Line and Safe House of Central Georgia as its in-kind partner for the league year. Crisis Line and Safe House provides community crisis intervention, safe shelter, comprehensive support, and recovery services for victims of sexual assault and domestic violence. Provisional and active members are encouraged to bring items to our General Membership Meetings to donate for "welcome home baskets" for Safe House residents who are transitioning into their own homes. At the beginning of each General Membership Meeting, members will enjoy drinks, hor d'oeuvres, and each other's company while assembling the welcome home baskets.
